Winter 2010 Olympics in Vancouver is a major winter sports event. Vancouver is the site of the Winter Olympics 2010. Winter Olympics in the Canadian west coast city of Vancouver is the 21st Winter Olympics ever.

When the International Olympic Committee had negotiated completed in Prague in 2003, it was clear that Vancouver would take over the Winter Olympic Games after Turin, Italy, which hosted the Games 2006. With the exception of the alpine disciplines, which will be held up in the ski resort of Whistler, the city of Vancouver is the place for most branches.

The Winter branches are now 86 in number, spread over 15 different sports. These are Alpine skiing, Ski jumping, Bob, Curling, Skating, Ice Hockey, Figure Skating, Nordic skiing, Nordic combined, luge, Short track speed skating, Skeleton, Ski Jumping and Snowboarding.

Among the participating nations are not only classic skiing nations like the U.S., Canada, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Italy, Germany etc.. There are also exotic countries such as Bahamas, Gabon, Ghana and the Cayman Islands.

Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010 is unique for two reasons. Firstly, it is the greatest place so far hosted the Winter Games and the opening ceremony for the first time to be kept indoors.
